Ootacamund: Hill station in South India made famous by the little narrow gauge rack & pinion railway connecting Mettupalayam and Ootacamund.
Mysore:Maharajah's Palace, Chamundi Hills, Brindavan Gardens, Jag Mohan Palace, important centre for sandalwood & silk products.
Madurai: Dravidian temple architechture at its best. A temple town with all the activities concentrated around the temple. Other sights worth visiting are Tirumalai Nayakar Palace.
Tiruchi: Temple town of Tamil Nadu known for the Rock Fort temple, Srirangam temple & Jambukeshwara temple.
Cochin: A inter-connection of islands. Diverse places to view such as The Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, Fort Cochin. An excellent place to view Kathakali dancing (a unique motion of body and the facial features).
Goa: Known for its beaches, mapusa market and easy going life-style.

Day Itinerary
01 MUMBAI - GOA. Daytime scenic train ride along the Western Ghats from Mumbai to Goa: 0710 -1910 or the shatabdi express: 0510 - 1430. 3 night's stay in hotel.
04 GOA - KOCHI. Catch overnight train from Goa to Kochi: 1610 - 0730*.
05 KOCHI. Arr Kochi at 0730 hrs. Three night's stay in Kochi.
08 KOCHI - MADURAI. Catch overnight train from Kochi to Tiruchi (early hours of Day 09: 0145 - 1000.
09 MADURAI. Arr Madurai at 1000 hrs. Overnight stay at hotel.
10 MADURAI - TIRUCHI. Train to Tiruchi. 0640 - 0845. Day in Tiruchi. TIRUCHI - COIMBATORE. Overnight train to Coimbatore:2300 - 0445*.
11 COIMBATORE/ METTUPALAYAM - OOTACAMUND. Arr Coimbatore 0445 hrs. Road to Mettupalayam. Catch toy train from Mettupalayam to Ootacamund for one of the great scenic rides in India (subject to operation due to weather conditions): 0710 - 1155. Overnight stay at hotel.
12 OOTACAMUND - MYSORE. Road from Ootacamund to Mysore. Two night's stay at Mysore.
14 MYSORE - BANGALORE - MUMBAI. Day time train from Mysore - Bangalore: 0820 - 1050. Day to wander in Bangalore. BANGALORE - MUMBAI. Overnight train from Bangalore to Mumbai: 2040 - 2015*.
17 MUMBAI. Arr Mumbai 2015 hrs. Note: Section from Pune - Mumbai on this train is another classic journey in India passing through rugged ghat scenery. Trip concludes on arrival in Mumbai.
