West Coast Supreme: Why not cover the excellent beaches of Palolem in Goa and Gokarna in Karnataka and tie it in with a trip on the Keralan backwaters, cover the spice hills & the interesting hill stations of South India (Munnar, Ooty & Madikeri) along with a visit to the sandalwood city of Mysore. (20 nts/ 21 days).

Palolem: Excellent beach in Southern Goa.
Kerala Backwaters: Travelling by boat along the Kerala backwaters is an experience not to be missed. The backwaters is an amazing network of lakes, canals, lagoons and rivers and coconut trees on the banks. You can view chinese fishing .nets and small village settlements along the narrow strips of land along the route.
Cochin: A inter-connection of islands. Diverse places to view such as The Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, Fort Cochin. An excellent place to view Kathakali dancing (a unique motion of body and the facial features).
Periyar wildlife Park: Built around an artificial lake and very close to the spice hills this wildlife park has a spectacular setting. It is an excellent retreat to view wildlife and enjoy the setting. Various animals can be found such as bison, monkey, sambar, antelopes. The most exciting viewing is that of elephants walking along the banks of the waters.
Munnar: This is a highly under-rated hill station in India at 1520 m. Surrounded by green rolling hills and with tea growing estates, it is an excellent retreat from the travels.
Ootacamund: Hill station in South India made famous by the little narrow gauge rack & pinion railway connecting Mettupalayam and Ootacamund.
Mysore:Maharajah's Palace, Chamundi Hills, Brindavan Gardens, Jag Mohan Palace, important centre for sandalwood & silk products.
Madikeri: Excellent Hill station in the Coorg region known for its cofee plantations..
Gokarna: Excellent beach shaped in the form of the Indian 'Om' sign in Northern Karnataka.

Detailed itinerary is given below:


Day Itinerary
01 MUMBAI - CANACONA (for Palolem): Take the day time scenic train journey from Mumbai – Canacona : 1140 - 2340. 3 nights at Palolem.
04 CANCONA - KOCHI: Catch overnight train from Cancona - Kochi: 2340 - 1230*.
05 KOCHI. Arr at 1230 hrs. Start modified version of Backwaters, Kochi, Spice Hills & Munnar. Suitably modified to add Ooty, Mysore & Madikeri in the Coorg region. Arrival transfer from Ernakulam railway station to hotel for 2 night's stay.
06 KOCHI. Day Free for exploring Kochi.
07 KOCHI– ALLEPEY - PERIYAR. Driver from Cochin to Allepey to board a private motorboat for the backwaters trip. Then drive on to Periyar for 2 night’s stay.
08 PERIYAR. Car & driver available for sightseeing of Periyar lakes and surrounding spice hills area.
09 PERIYAR - MUNNAR. Morning at leisure. Then drive on to Munnar for 2 night’s stay.
10 MUNNAR. Car & driver available for sightseeing of Munnar. Munnar is an excellent hill station known for its walks.
11 MUNNAR – OOTACAMUND. Drive from Munnar to Ootacamund for overnight stay. Afternoon available for sightseeing of Ootacamund or possibly take a local toy train down from Ooty – Mettupalayam and then drive back to Ootacamund depending on the train times for overnight stay.
12 OOTACAMUND - MYSORE. Morning drive onto Mysore for 2 night’s stay. Afternoon visit the Maharajah’s Palace & then proceed to Brindavan Gardens for the evening lit gardens. Then return to hotel.
13 MYSORE. Car & driver available for full day sightseeing including a visit to Srirangapatnam & Chamundi hills and Jagmohan Palace.
14 MYSORE – MADIKERI. Then drive from Mysore to Madikeri in the Coorg region. This is an excellent hill station amidst coffee plantations.
16 MADIKERI – MANGALORE – GOKARNA. Then drive from Madikeri to Mangalore. Catch daytime scenic train journey to Gokarna station: 1420 - 1804. Stay for 4 nights in Gokarna.
20 GOKARNA – MUMBAI. Catch night train from Gokarna - Mumbai: 1804 - 0635*.
21 MUMBAI. Arrive in Mumbai by train. Trip concludes on arrival in Mumbai.
