PALACE ON WHEELS.





Palace on Wheels is a special deluxe broad gauge train which covers the major cities of Rajasthan (a state known for its palaces & forts). The trip is on a full board basis inclusive of local sightseeing at the destinations, cultural programmes, elephant/camel/boat rides etc. Travel between the cities is by overnight train. Full day sightseeing at the places of interest in the cities. Meals are arranged on the Palace on Wheels & sometimes at the Palace hotels such as Lake Palace in Udaipur.
The accommodation comprises of 4 cabins per carriage (each cabin contains 2 lower berths & one upper berth with attached shower/toilet facilities). The train consists of a dining car, bar, lounge area. A rajasthani turbaned butler service is also available throughout the stay on the train to give a feel of a bygone era.

Travel between destinations overnight.
WEEKDAY DESTINATION/ACTIVITIES TRAVEL: POINT - POINT
WED DELHI. The journey of a lifetime begins at the Delhi Safdarjung Railway station where the guests are accorded a traditional welcome before the Palace-on-Wheels pulls out into the night for a week-long luxury cruise through fascinating Rajasthan. Reporting Time 16.00 hrs. Dep. 18.30 hrs.
Dinner on board the Palace on Wheels
Delhi - Jaipur.
THU JAIPUR. Breakfast on board. Full day sightseeing of the Pink City of Jaipur including the Observatory, City Palace, Palace of Winds and a visit to Amber Palace Chittaurgarh. Lunch at a Palace hotel or state hotel. Dinner on board the train. Jaipur - Jaisalmer
FRI RANTHAMBORE TIGER RESERVE & CHITTAURGARH. Arrive in Sawai Madhopur. Visit to the national park with a hope of seeing the elusive Tiger. Return to the Palace on Wheels for onward trip to Chittaurgarh. Lunch on board the train. Arrive at Chittaurgarh. Sightseeing of the majestic fort at Chittaurgarh. Dinner on board. Jaisalmer - Jodhpur.
SAT UDAIPUR. Breakfast on board. Sightseeing at Udaipur. Lunch at a Palace hotel. Return to the train for dinner and onward trip. Jodhpur - Ranthambore.
SUN JAISALMER. Breakfast on board. Morning sightseeing of the Fort and latticed havelis or mansions with their grand facades such as Nathmal Ki Haveli, Patwon Ki Haveli and Salim Singh Ki Haveli. Return for lunch on board. After rest depart towards the sand dunes for views and camel ride. Dinner with cultural programme at Jaisalmer. Chittaurgarh - Udaipur.
MON JODHPUR. Breakfast on board. Then depart for sightseeing of Mehrangarh Fort and the grand palaces within (Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana) are impressive examples of architectural excellenceand and then onto Jaswant Thada. Lunch at a Palace hotel. Then return to the train for dinner and onward trip. Udaipur - Bharatpur/Fatepur Sikri/Agra.
TUE BHARATPUR/FATEHPUR SIKRI/AGRA. Visit to the National Bird saanctuary at Bharatpur. Breakfast at Forest Lodge. Then proceed on to Fatehpur Sikri to view this deserted city. Then on to Agra for sightseeing the excellent Agra Fort and the world famous Taj Mahal. Lunch and dinner on board. Agra - Delhi.
WED DELHI. The tour concludes on arrival in Delhi.

Rates given above are based on twin share cabin basis. If you require costing based on single rooms or triple rooms or superior rooms, please email us and we shall get back to you with a costing.
Cost Includes:
stay in a twin share cabin on a full board basis; excursions as mentioned; entrance fees to monuments and guides as mentioned on the itinerary; boat rides, camel rides & elephant rides if applicable.
Cost Excludes: flights; hotels in Delhi; transfers & sightseeing in Delhi either side of the train journey;camera fees at wildlife parks; laundry; personal drinks & extra mineral water; tips; items of a personal nature.

Note: There is likely to be a peak season supplement for Christmas and New Year dates.

Not Included: International air travel.
However, S.D.Enterprises would be happy to recommend agents that could procure international scheduled air tickets as "ticket providers". (London - Delhi - London).
