Karmi Farm. Himalayan Retreats. Karmi Farm was originally known as Karmi Estate and was the family home of Mrs Deki Pulger (one of our customers) who has been associated with this area for over 200 years. Married to Ronald Frame, a Scottish tea planter who came to this area in 1950. Where is this place and why go there? Karmi Farm is an excellent relaxation point which is located in the North East of India. The nearest notable major tourist destination near Karmi Farm is the hill station of Darjeeling. It is nestled in the hills and is an excellent peaceful retreat destination for trekkers, bird-watchers and painters. Unlike the poluted and hustle bustle hill stations, Karmi is a secluded calm oasis to recharge your batteries before returning back to the UK. Map of the destination is given below:-  Excellent Excursion trek from Darjeeling - Karmi. Day 1: Start Trek. Drive to Manaybhanjang. Arrive Mani Bhanjang, alt. approx.7000ft, Meet up with guide and start trek to Tumling, alt. approx. 9000ft. About a 4hr walk. Overnight Tumling. Day 2: Tumling to Sandakphu, alt.12000ft, Approx.6-7hr walk. Overnight Sandakphu. Day 3: Early wakeup to see the sunrise then after breakfast start the downhill walk to Rimbik, alt.approx.7000ft. Lunch at Rimbik then 2hr drive to Karmi Farm. alt. 4800ft. Reach Karmi late afternoon early evening. Day 3 & Day 4 At Karmi Farm. 2 nights. Day 5: Check out. Trip cost is £ 189 per person on a twin share basis starting from Darjeeling on Day 1 and concluding at Karmi on Day 5. Rates valid for trip conclusion by 15 Sep 2010. This trip applies for a minimum of 2 persons. Cost Includes: transport & trekking from Darjeeling to Karmi staying at trekker's huts on a full board basis for the trek section from Day 1 - Day 3; ovrnight stay on a twin share full board basis at Karmi. Cost Excludes: hotels & transport in Darjeeling prior to trek; mineral water & personal drinks; transfers from Karmi to Siliguri on Day 5. We advise our customers to take their own sleeping bags and ensure that they have boots for trekking.
