GOA - GOA: Rail + Hotel Itineraries.
Using the combination of rail and hotel we have made up different itineraries
which are to start from Goa and conclude in Goa. Thus it becomes a beach
holiday plus an explorers delight for independent travellers. This
entails only two aspects of travel. They are : a rail pass (i.e. Ist Cl/AC
II tier/AC Chaircar class for India) with pre-booked rail sectors (avoids
queues at rail stations) and hotel accommodation on a twin share room
only basis at the destinations (saves approximately 1 - 2 hours at each
destination in accommodation searches). We have identified 4 very popular
routes based on preferences of past customers. They are:-
- Hampi Stopover (3 nights: From £ 135):
This excursion is ideal for those who wish to do a short trip whilst
maintaining the main purpose of a beach holiday. It involves a train
from Goa - Hospet for covering Hampi. Hampi is a town with an amazing
terrain made up of rock boulders. Historically, very important as
it was the seat of the Vijaynagar empire. Sights include various temples
including the Vitthala temple.
- Bombay Stopover (3 nights: From £ 92):
This city is: the engine of India; heart of the Indian cinema (referred
to as Bollywood: Indian film factory producing more films than Hollywood);
the home of cricket to many Indians (Take a walk down the Bombay Maidan,
a red turf park where nearly 5 - 10 cricket matches are played right
next to each other); shoppers delight. It has many sights such as
elephanta caves, museums, Marine drive and a mix of old gothic architechture
with buildings such as Victoria Terminus, Churchgate along with buildings
which are typically that of Bombay. This trip also includes the trip
from Bombay - Goa along the Konkan Railway.
- Goa - Delhi (Cover India's Golden
Triangle) - Goa (6 nights/ 7 Days From £ 189): Delhi is a
diverse city with 2 major sections, New Delhi & Old Delhi. New Delhi
is very similar to any European capital with India Gate, Rashtrapati
Bhawan, houses of parliament, Royal Observatory etc. Old Delhi contains
great monuments such as Red Fort, Jama Masjid etc. This is a great
base for visiting India's Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra & Jaipur).
Agra (The Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri to name just a few
major sights) and Jaipur (Palace of winds, City Palace, Amber Palace
to name a few sights).
- Cochin plus stay on a Keralan Houseboat (6
nights From £ 209): For those who are looking for a region
of natural scenic beauty and a visit to monuments of historical interest
a trip the magnificent city of Cochin is ideal. This is an inter-connected
set of islands, waterways and the mainland. It is a great base for
backwaters boat trips, viewing a Katahkali performance (an amazing
dance drama with facial movements) and many sights such as the Mattancherry
Palace, the Jewish Synagogue. Overnight stay on a Keralan houseboat
is a unique experience covering the backwaters through the narrow
canals separated by small strips of land where coconut trees form
arches.
- Tailor-Made Travel. The possibilities
of this type of combination of arrangements is unlimited. They can
be tailor-made to suit your requirements. Just
send us your specific requests.
